Deep inside the jungle there is a watchtower, ideal for sighting elephants, wild boards and herds of wandering deer. Birdwatchers can spot the Hill Myan here, right after Pampasar. 10 km before Tikarpada is a place named Purunakote. People visiting Satkosia sometimes stay at Purunakote forest Bungalow. Just 3.5 km from Purunakote is the Hatigirja Watch tower. The watch tower overlooks a waterbody where elephants and sambars come to drink water. Wildlife spotting from Hatigirja Watch tower can be thrilling. People staying at Purunakote usually take short hikes inside the jungle accompanied by forest guides. From Puranakote, one can drive deep into the jungle to reach the Wildlife Conservation and Awareness Centre at Baghamunda.

The best time to visit Satkosia is during the winter (November to February) or just after the Monsoon (Late September to October). Summer is extreme here but if you really want to site wild elephants,the chances are pretty high in this scorching summer. Because, in these time, wild elephants and wild boars visit the nearby villages for paddy.However,peak monsoon season (July to mid-September) is not advisable for a visit here.
