In December 2019, Daringbadi even experienced snowfall. However, snowfall is not a regular affair here in winter. It is not heavy but light to moderate. It is believed that the place got its name from one Mr. Daring who was in charge of the place during British Rule.

Sight seeing in Daringbadi

This is an eco village which also has a Sanctuary. There is a scenic forest surrounding the village. There is a British Bungalow here. It is good for adventure sports also. The decreasing height of the mountains is apt for paragliding. The Tribal villages of the Kutia Kondhs or Kutia Kandhas are nearby
For lovers of 360 degree view of a place, Hill View point of Daringbadi is the ideal place. This is a very popular sightseeing spot as the tourists can see the 360 degree view of Daringbadi from here. There is a well maintained Park on this hill-top which has two watchtowers.
This waterfall is situated at a distance of 16 km from Daringbadi. One has to descend 181 stairs to reach the base of the waterfalls.The water gushes down from a mountain top and a pond is created at the base where people take baths.. The entry fee is around Rs.50.
Putudi waterfall is situated at a distance of just 15 km from Daringbadi.. The water of Putudi falls into the River of Bada Saluki.
This is a beautiful small river with its being an ideal picnic spot on pleasant days.
The climatic condition of the area is ideal for growth of coffee. There are two Coffee plantations located around .
The spot is 13 km from Daringbadi. There is a stream here which flows through the rocks along with the scenic beauty of the area.
This enclosed area has quite a few emu bids.
The nearest rail station to reach Daringbadi is Brahmapur. One has to take a hired car to reach here. Daringbadi lies 120 km east of Brahmapur.

Best time to visit

If you are a general tourist and nature lover, winter and monsoon are the two best seasons to visit Saranda, Kiriburu and Meghataburu. The temperature in winter (November to February) is around 10 to 16 Degree Centigrade, which is relaxing enough for a Jeep Safari in the jungle of Saranda. In rainy season (July to October), the forest gets decked up in lush green which is a treat to the eyes. For a nature lover doing Kiriburu and Meghataburu tour, this can be a feast for the eyes. Rainfall is around 200-350 millimeters at that time. However for wild life lovers, summer season where temperature rises to around 40 degrees can be a great time. A package tour of Saranada during March or April can be highly rewarding for the wildlife shutterbugs.
